To me, Sundays are about unwinding, savoring those last few moments of weekend bliss before Monday sneaks back up on you. So next Sunday, take a stroll down to Pier 41 and stop by The Red Hook Winery. The friendly staff will greet you at the door and lure you in with their giant locally-produced wine selection.
Do. a. Tasting. It’s $5 per person, and it may be the most generous wine tasting I’ve ever experienced. From chardonnay to cabernet, there wasn’t a wine I didn’t like, and it doesn’t hurt that they refill your glass as soon as you finish the last drop of your previous tasting. My favorite was the Rose, so of course, I had to spring for a bottle. And for just $20, it was affordable too.
After you’ve gotten a sufficient wine buzz, take a tour. You’ll get a behind the scenes look at wine production and and the gorgeous view from their back door. These guys seriously have the best jobs ever.
After the tasting, make sure to eat brunch or dinner at The Good Fork (post coming soon!). Cheers.
